The Classmate Chronicles

Being the data base coordinator for this particular reunion, I am in the fortunate position of being able to reconnect or connect with our classmates.  I am getting so much enjoyment from talking to friends, old and new -- for me, the reunion is already in full swing, and it will be an ongoing thing until August, when we all gather together at our 20th reunion!

I feel kind of selfish keeping my fun encounters to myself, so I'd like to share them with those of you who are interested, and I hope that you will add your fun pre-/reunion experiences to these chronicles for others to enjoy also!

January 2005:
Dave Freeman reminisces about the glorious '80s:
Just a little nestalgia for your entertainment . Do any of you remember wearing , concert shirts, derbie jackets, parachute pants, checkered vans, leg warmers, dove shorts over sweat pants, knee high socks with colored f%@&ing stripes at the top, jordache jeans, I liked jordache jeans, ooh ooh and those pants with the zipper that went all the way around through the crotch , yeah I liked those a lot too .  All the stoners wore flanels & the mauds wore bandanas tied around their legs . Do you remember places like , spencers gifts at the mall, the food court at the mall, the midnight movies at the mall , I saw the Rockie Horror Picture Show there about 50 times . ask me about the times we went to see the R.H.P.S. at the Strand in S.F. in drag. Thats right you heard me . OMG here`s a biggie, Roller World , rexing with Rickie & Norman & Tony & the rest of the d-j`s there. video arcades, day on the green concerts . And the music, some of the shit we listened to was so stupid. Bands like, kajagoogoo, flock of seaguls, bannnaramma, human league, loverboy, men at work, u-huh, the culture club, and yes I really did want to hurt him, spandau ballet, men without hats, if you were a rocker then, iron maiden, judast priest, megga death, ronnie james dio, ingvai j. malmstien, the cars, night ranger,    I could go on forever. I hope you have found this e-mail humerous, possibly enlightning, & maybe even   Killer or Totaly Kool or maybe even Bad Ass Man !  and in the meanwhile Chill Out    Dude!!!      D.

9/17:  I saw Kenn Warren for the first time in years!  And what a sight to see - he looks great (and gives nice hugs, too!)  He came over to my place for dinner, and after reminiscing and sharing life stories for a little bit, we went into Oakland for a classic movie at the beautiful Paramount Theatre.  We saw "The Candidate" starring Robert Redford - the sound was gratingly tinny and the sideburns were definitely imposing, but it was filmed at the very theater we were sitting in, so that added an extra dimension to it.

9/10:  Tony Maraccini dropped by my classroom at MDHS to say hi and to offer his help in finding some of our lost classmates!  He is a wealth of information about people, so I am looking forward to his updates on our missing classmates!  I had a room full of students whose warm ups were done, so I had to cut our conversation short, but it was really good to see Tony again!

9/6:  Ronnette (Grubb) Brown and I spoke for the first time when she called me about the reunion.  I don't think we ever had a class together in high school, but it was really nice to talk about our school and friends that we had in common.  Ronnette promised to come and bring more people to our next planning meeting on October 5 to help put our reunion together!

9/5:  I found Bridget Pickett thanks to a lead from Patty (Young) Stanier and some help from Bridget's boss, who passed my message on to her!  She called me on Sunday morning, and I was really happy to hear from her - I hadn't seen Bridget since DVC.  She is doing wonderfully well and happily living in Los Angeles.
